WTS is seeking qualified applicants for Certified Pool Operators to work at the Ashburn Village Sports Pavilion in Ashburn, VA. The Sports Pavilion features two leisure pools, a wading pool, and Marina. Under general directions from the Aquatics Director and Head Lifeguard, the Certified Pool Operator will monitor the activities and ensures the safety of swimmers. Observes and enforces pool rules and regulations. Performs daily custodial duties to ensure a safe and clean aquatic facility. Maintains required aquatic facility records and proper pool chemistry. Flexible schedule available to include early mornings, nights, days and weekends.
Be a leader to the shift - team coaching employees with positive reinforcement, and disciplines, when necessary, fairly and consistently
Assits with supervising Lifeguarding staff
Assits with new employee orientation for aquatics staff
Ensures the safety of all patrons
Operates pool and surrounding areas in compliance with OSHA, local State and Federal laws, and County Ordinaces performing backwashes, draining pools, and filling pool as directed
Maintains all records and reports as required for Pool Inspections
Directly responsible for the proper operation of the Pool's Filtration System
Works with Loudon County Health Department Pool Inspectors to meet all requirements
Educates public regarding facility rules and regulations giving special attention to potentially life - threatening activities
Responds and reports all incdents appropriately including submitting all reports in a timely manner to the Aquatics Director and Head Lifeguard
Peforms all daily custodial and maintainence duties
Inventories and maintains a monthly supply of First Aid equipment, chemicals, and consumable equipment
Be familiar with all aquatics and instructional programs
Reconfigure pool for activities and events
Assist with Special Events
Assists with staff scheduling providing coverage when necessary
Ensures that the indoor and outdoor pools, and Marina is clean and fully operational at all times
Ensures facility is only accessed by actual members and/or guests, and that it is safe and secure at all times
Cleaning and maintaining the overflow gutters, pool deck, steps, ladders, and other related surfaces and equipment as necessary
Assumes responsibility of cleanliness and safety of pool areas
Reports and assists in resolving any maintenance related issued to the Aquatics Director and Head Lifeguard
Other duties as assigned.
Must have Red Cross Lifeguard Certification, including First Aid and CPR/AED, and Loudoun County Pool Operator’s License prior to beginning work. Lifeguarding Instructor, CPR/AED and Supplemental Oxygen preferred. Water Safety Instructor and Membership in Virginia Recreation and Park Society and the National Recreation and Parks Association are beneficial to the position. Minimium of one - year experience in an aquatics related supervisory position. Excellent communitcation skills. Efficient, well organized, and able to handle a variety of duties simultaneously. Professional manner, descretion, and appearance. Excellent verbal and written skills. Energetic, enthusiastic, and motivational. Effective leadership skills and strong work ethic. Ability to stand for long periods. Awareness of proper body mechanics to prevent injury. This position is required to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, walk, and talk. The employee is reqularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel or operatate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. Must have the ability to lift 50lbs. Knowledget and experience operating High - Rate Sand Filters a plus!
