Overview

WTS International, one of the world’s leading spa, fitness and leisure consulting and management firms, is seeking a Cluster Spa Director for a reputed Client in Riyadh, KSA.  The Cluster Spa Director will manage the SPA department at three to four properties within Riyadh as a successful independent profit centre, ensuring maximum guest satisfaction consistent with International SPA standards, through planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the Spa operation and administration. The involvement will begin with one site initially and grow into a cluster role as other properties become operational. Responsible for the day-to day operations of the facility to include establishing and meeting the budget and financial goals of the organization, implementing a strategic plan to include marketing initiatives and staff training, acting as the liaison to other revenue centers on property, and professionally representing the facility and WTS. Uses the ability to lead and motivate staff to achieve goals and exceed guest expectations.   Our ideal candidate has a 5 star luxury background and this position requires knowledge of Arabic and fluency in English.

Responsibilities

Financial

  • To ensure that the monthly forecasted Spa revenue figures are achieved.
  • To strictly adhere to the established operating expenses and ensure that all costs are controlled.
  • To ensure effective payroll control through a flexible work force optimal utilization of part time employees and close cooperation with other SPA outlets.
  • To participate in the formulation of the Annual Operating Budget in determining outlet projected revenues and expenses, operating equipment and FF&E requirements in line with the compilation of the Annual Business Plan.
  • Ensures that financial goals are attained by developing and implementing a retail sales plan.  Establishes service and retail goals for staff and provides guidance on how to achieve them.

 

Operational

  • To ensure that the work place is managed efficiently according to the established concept statement, providing courteous, professional, efficient and flexible service at all times, following international, Client and WTS standards of performance.
  • To conduct monthly inventory checks on all operating equipment and supplies.
  • To conduct daily pre-shift briefings to employees on room occupancy, arrivals & departures, function / event of the day and special attention that is needed.
  • Develops a comprehensive standard facility operations manual, including written policies and procedures for all facility services, administration, and maintenance using the WTS operations template.
  • Ensures the successful integration of the spa and the fitness facility into the overall operations of the hotels.

 

Guest Service

  • Ensure that all employees establish a rapport with guests and the Spa team projects a warm, professional and welcoming image.
  • Ensures the “Client and WTS Experience” for members and guests by maintaining the standards set in WTS’ Basics to Excellence (BTE), Standards and Expectations plus Client and WTS’ Brand Standards.

 

Administration

  • To ensure that all Departmental Operations Manuals are prepared and updated annually.
  • To submit to Director of Rooms’ Office the following: Monthly Financial Report, Monthly Objective Review, and Trainer’s Report.
  • To plan the weekly roster and work schedules to ensure that the place of work is adequately staffed to handle the level of business.
  • To submit all guest / staff incident reports.
  • Ensures compliance with all licensing and health requirements applicable to the facilities.

 

Marketing

  • To take charge of membership acquisition and renewal procedures in close cooperation with the Sales & Marketing Department.
  • Establish MarCom & PR plan – in line with Client’s Corporate goals.
  • Writes articles or press releases for the facility when applicable.
  • Creates and implements an effective marketing and public relations strategy in a timely manner.
  • Ensures that the spa is successfully positioned within the respective marketplace by completing a competitive analysis and determining strengths and weaknesses of all significant competitors.

 

Employee Handling

  • To supervise the employees within the department, ensuring that the correct standards and methods of service are maintained as stated in the Department’ Operations Manual.
  • Maintains a fully staffed facility by recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training all staff.

 

Occasional Duties:

  • To carry out quarterly inventory of operating equipment and conduct monthly par stock checks.
  • To plan and organize special events and festive promotions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, hospitality, health and wellness or related area preferred.
  • 5+ years of successful spa management experience in a 5 star environment
  • Knowledge of professional spa services and treatments.
  • Knowledge of retail operations and inventory systems.
  • Effective leadership skills and a strong work ethic.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Efficient, well organized, and able to handle a variety of duties simultaneously.
  • Creative in marketing and promotions.
  • Proficient in spa software (Booker, Spa Soft) and Microsoft Office products.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • CPR/First Aid Certified.
  • Essential – Excellent Proficiency in English (Speaking, Reading, Writing)
  • Desirable – Fluency in Arabic (Speaking only)
