  • Overview

    The Spa Treatment Trainer is responsible for providing training and development to the spa team.

    Responsibilities

    • Ensures the “WTS International Experience” for guests by maintaining the standards set in WTS International Basics to Excellence (BTE), WTS International Mission Statement/Values; Standards and Expectations, and WTS International Brand Standards.
    • Adheres to policies of WTS International.
    • Develops and trains a team of service providers to meet all aspects of professionalism and service demands. Supports the associate hiring process including interviews and practical evaluation. Set up training for new employees to cover product, services, orientation, computer, and customer service standards.
    • Responsible for end of month manual inventory of professional product.
    • Responsible for preparing department orders in alignment with budget and actual sales.
    • Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation standards including all spa treatment rooms, dispensary, and salon (if applicable). Ensures all equipment and rooms are stocked on a daily basis.
    • Provides on-going training to staff members in product use, techniques, and service standards. Ensure all service providers understand products and services as well as common daily practices. Test staff for quality of service and standards of excellence.
    • Set up continuing education for all staff with vendors/trainers on a bi-monthly basis.
    • Update standard operating procedures and treatment protocols as needed. Creates operating procedures for daily activities as needed to maintain quality standards within the spa.
    • Assists management with the set up and execution of special events and promotions.
    • Assisting with setting and reviewing both service-related retail goals with their team members.
    • Provides feedback to employees relating to treatment execution and consistency. Provides input relating to employee annual performance reviews.
    • Helps to create new menu services as needed.
    • Remain current on staff certifications and professional requirements.
    • Meets the needs of the guest at all times throughout the service. Assists staff members in providing a memorable guest experience.
    • Understands and uses universal precautions when teaching or providing services.
    • Maintains the highest level of product knowledge and has complete knowledge of all spa service presently offered. Understands the ingredients in products and can explain their benefits to guests. Answers guest’s questions in a knowledgeable and professional manner.
    • Suggests to guests other beneficial treatments offered in the spa.
    • Works assigned schedule and arrives and departs from their shift on time.
    • Ensures that work areas are clean and set according to procedures.
    • Creates and maintains client cards and treatment notes, when appropriate.
    • Attends all scheduled meetings.
    • Attends scheduled professional trainings.
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Previous experience as a licensed massage therapist. Esthetician and nail technician preferred.
    • Valid state license or other credentials as required by the state.
    • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
    • Customer service experience, preferably in a spa.
    • Excellent customer service skills and work ethic.
    • Efficient, well organized, and able to handle a variety of duties simultaneously.
    • Energetic, enthusiastic and motivational.
    • Professional manner, discretion, and appearance.
    • Good verbal and written skills.
    • Strong team player. Ability to promote cooperation within department and spa
    • Ability to use Spasoft or other spa software for inventory control and moving appointments.
    • Must be comfortable with product recommendation
    • Availability When Facility Is Open: This could include nights, weekends, and holidays.
    • Ability to stand for long periods.
    • Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of constantly to move objects.
    • This position required the ability to balance, stoop, crouch, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, and lift.
    • This position will require the following physical requirements: fingering, grasping, tactile sense, repetitive motions, visual acuity and hearing.
    • The employee will be required to operate the following tools: products such as lotions and oils, other enhancement tools such as stones or hot pack, and warmers. This position may require the use of a computer, calculator or inventory control devices.
    • The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
